Nuno, in collaboration with Professor Joe Paradiso of the MIT Media Lab, transforms Alcator C-Mod, MIT PSFC’s tokamak, into an audio experience. Professor Paradiso designed and built one of the world’s largest modular synthesizers. The synth was recently installed near the C-Mod cell and creates music using data from C-Mod shots.

The synth will play this data until the middle of June; streaming is available on http://synth.media.mit.edu .

Every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, students from PSFC and students from MIT’s Media Lab will give guided tours of the synth and of Alcator C-Mod.
